About the FAO Internship Program 2025

The FAO Internship 2025 is part of FAO’s initiative to build global talent and promote cross-cultural exchange. With 194+ member states, the organization works in over 130 countries to ensure food security and sustainable development. Interns will work closely with experts in fields such as agriculture, food systems, rural development, environmental sustainability, and policy planning.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this United Nations internship program, applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a recognized undergraduate or postgraduate program.
  • Be between 21 and 30 years old at the time of application.
  • Hold citizenship from a FAO member country.
  • Demonstrate fluency in at least one FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish).
  • Possess strong communication skills and adaptability to multicultural environments.
  • Have no immediate family members working with FAO under any contract. 

Applicants must also have appropriate residency or legal status for the internship duty station.

FAO Internship Benefits

Selected interns receive a monthly stipend of up to USD 700, unless otherwise funded. Additional benefits include medical coverage, practical field experience, and access to professional training resources. Internships last between 3 and 11 months and are designed to complement academic studies with real-world projects.
