Global Minority Rights Summer School 2025 in Hungary (Fully Funded)

Applications for the 2025 Global Minority Rights Summer School are now being accepted. International applicants from all over the world can enroll in our fully funded summer school. The 6-day Summer School is scheduled for July 6–11, 2025, in Budapest, Hungary. IELTS is not a prerequisite, nor is there an application fee. “Cultural Diversity and Minority Rights” is the theme for the 2025 Global Minority Rights Summer School. This program’s goal is to investigate issues about minority diversity and cultural rights. Minority rights and the international legal system that safeguards them are the program’s main concerns. Its goal is to unite campaigners and subject-matter specialists. Ludovika University will host the summer session.

 

Program Objectives

Participants will engage in a comprehensive curriculum designed to:

  • Provide a critical overview of international and regional frameworks governing minority rights.
  • Discuss recent developments in minority protection and explore opportunities for engagement.
  • Examine current norms, issues, and challenges concerning minority rights and cultural diversity.
  • Explore the roles of various international and regional mechanisms, civil society, and other actors in addressing minority rights and cultural issues.
  • Analyze case studies related to specific minority groups and cultural rights.
  • Develop participants’ research interests through presentations on relevant topics of their choice.

 

Eligibility Criteria

The program is open to:

  • MA and PhD students aiming to enhance their academic or professional careers in fields related to minority rights.
  • Public servants, decision-makers, higher education instructors, and journalists interested in minority rights, diversity, equality, and international law.
  • Members of civil society organizations, minority rights advocates, and other practitioners.
  • Individuals keen on recent developments, theories, and advanced training in minority rights protection.

A strong command of English is required for all participants.

 

Financial Support

The program offers both full and partial scholarships:

  • Full scholarships cover tuition, meals, accommodation, and travel expenses to Budapest.
  • Partial scholarships cover tuition, meals, and accommodation.

Applicants seeking scholarships should demonstrate:

  • A proven interest or current work in the field of minority rights.
  • Strong motivation to enhance their understanding and skills.

Plans for future activities or careers utilizing the knowledge, contacts, and skills acquired during the program.

Preference is given to individuals belonging to national or ethnic, linguistic, religious, or racialized minorities, as well as Indigenous people. Scholarships are limited, and applicants with demonstrated financial need and inability to self-fund their participation are encouraged to apply.

 

Application Process

Interested candidates must submit their applications by March 10, 2025. The application process is straightforward, with no application fee required. Additionally, proficiency tests like IELTS are not mandatory. To apply, complete the application form, save it as 2025GMRSS_lastname_firstname, and email it to gmrss@tomlantosinstitute.hu.
