The Harvard Radcliffe Institute Fellowship 2026–27 is a prestigious, fully funded fellowship in the USA, open to exceptional scholars, scientists, artists, journalists, and public leaders from around the world. Hosted by the Harvard Radcliffe Institute, this fellowship offers a unique opportunity for individuals to pursue innovative, interdisciplinary research in an intellectually vibrant environment at Harvard University.

Each year, 50 fellows are selected to join this global community of changemakers. Applicants from all disciplines—including humanities, social sciences, sciences, engineering, mathematics, and the arts—are encouraged to apply. Eligibility Criteria:

General Requirements:

  • Open to applicants of all nationalities
  • Must demonstrate a record of high academic or professional achievement
  • Must have strong independent research and writing skills
  • Former Harvard Radcliffe fellows are not eligible

Practitioners (non-profit, government, or private sector):

  • Must hold senior leadership positions with at least 10 years of experience
  • Must be widely recognized as a leader in their field

Academic and Creative Fields:

Humanities & Social Sciences:

  • Doctorate in the field of proposed project (by at least two years before fellowship start)
  • Minimum of one monograph or two refereed journal articles published

Science, Engineering & Mathematics:

  • Doctorate in relevant field
  • At least five peer-reviewed journal articles published

Creative Arts:

  • Film & Video: Work showcased in festivals, television, or other platforms
  • Visual Arts: Minimum five years as a professional artist with solo/group exhibitions
  • Fiction/Non-Fiction:
    • At least one published book
    • OR three substantial works published
  • Poetry:
    • Minimum of 20 published poems over the past five years
    • OR one published poetry book or work-in-progress
  • Journalism: At least five years of professional experience
  • Playwriting: Proof of independent work such as productions
  • Music Composition:
    • PhD/DMA preferred but not mandatory
    • Proven record of recent professional performances
