The Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) 2025 – Round 2 is now accepting applications. This highly competitive and fully funded scholarship is designed for talented individuals from developing countries who wish to pursue a master’s degree abroad. Funded by the World Bank Group, this opportunity enables recipients to study at top-tier institutions in the United States, Japan, Europe, Africa, and Oceania.

Applicants must first obtain an unconditional offer of admission to one of the 41 approved master’s programs offered by 24 participating universities. Only admitted candidates will be invited to complete the JJ/WBGSP scholarship application. No application fee is required to apply.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of a World Bank-listed developing country
  • Not hold dual citizenship with any developed country
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree (earned at least 3 years prior to application)
  • Have at least 3 years of paid, development-related work experience
  • Be in good health
  • Have received an unconditional admission offer to an eligible master’s program by the deadline

  2. Only candidates with an unconditional offer will receive access to the scholarship application form
